I work closely with families, teachers, and local resources to create a caring network of support around each student.
What Does a School Counselor Do?

Classroom Guidance Lessons: I visit classrooms to teach age-appropriate life skills, including managing big emotions, conflict resolution, managing test anxiety and making healthy choices.

Small Group Support: Many times kids learn best from each other. I run small play based groups focused on practicing specific skills- social skills, making friends, coping with anxiety, or building confidence.

Short-Term Individual Counseling: I am not a clinical counseling and do not provide clinical counseling to students. I meet with students 1-on-1 for brief, solution focused support.

Crisis Response & Problem-Solving: If a student is having a tough day, feeling overwhelmed, or experiencing a crisis at school, I provide immediate support to help them reset and safely return to learning.

You know your child best. If you notice changes at home, are experiencing a major family change, or have concerns about how your child is adjusting to school, please reach out. Together, we can build a plan to help your child thrive.
You are able to access your student’s grades through the Home Access Center (HAC). https://hac.sparcc.org/HomeAccess/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=/homeaccess/Home Access Center
There is also a link on the Tuslaw home page (www.tuslawschools.org).
Click on “Parents”
click on “Parent Grade Viewer/Home Access Center.”
Once you click on the link, you will see this: (Be sure the district is set to: Tuslaw Local)
You will be able to reset your password at any time using your challenge question or the “forgot my password” link.
*If you have more than one student in the district, your username and password is the
same for all. Once you log in, you can toggle between accounts by clicking on the arrow in
the upper right hand corner.

My job as an Elementary School Counselor is to make sure every student feels supported, safe, and ready to learn. Think of me like a dedicated advocate for your child’s emotional, social, and academic success while they are at school.
